How we know

Every finding is something we can show you

The check is built to be checkable. Where it cannot be certain, it says so rather than guessing in our favor.

Before we call a link broken, we fetch it again. If it loads, we drop the finding. If the server answers 404 on one form of the address, we try the other before we believe it. And if we simply could not read the page, whether a timeout, a certificate error or a server refusing us, we say nothing at all, because that is our problem and not evidence about your site.

Three resolvers have to agreeA record is only called missing when independent resolvers agree it is. A lookup that fails is recorded as inconclusive and left out, never counted against you.

We say what we cannot seeDKIM is read on the selectors the major platforms use. A firm signing on an unusual name may have DKIM we cannot find, and the report tells you that.
