Managed IT services · New Jersey
What is actually in the plan, before you ask.
A managed IT plan from Matano IT Solutions covers the whole of a small business's technology for one flat price per person per month: help desk, patching, monitoring, Microsoft 365 administration, multi-factor authentication and backup, with endpoint protection, email security and email authentication monitoring on the higher tiers. It has a five-person minimum, with Solo Care covering a firm of one to four, and it is quoted in writing after a 15-minute review.
In every plan
The part that is the same for everybody.
- Help deskFor everyone in the office, by call, chat, text or email, with no per-ticket charge and no monthly allowance to run down.
- PatchingOperating systems and the applications that actually get exploited, applied on a schedule rather than when somebody notices.
- MonitoringDisks, backups, updates and the machines themselves, watched so that the thing about to break is handled first.
- Microsoft 365 administrationAccounts, licenses, groups and sharing, and a leaver's access removed the day they leave.
- Multi-factor authentication, enforcedNot offered and not encouraged. Enforced, which is the only version that stops an account takeover.
- BackupSet up, monitored, and restored from as a test rather than as an emergency.
Higher tiers
What the step up buys.
There are three tiers. The first is everything above. The other two add security you can point at when a client or an insurer asks.
Security added
Endpoint protection, email security, phishing simulation so your people meet a fake before they meet a real one, ongoing email authentication monitoring, and a quarterly review of what changed.
Documented
Written documentation of the security controls in place, kept current, for the questionnaires your clients and your insurer send you. The technical evidence, not an opinion on your policy.
Not in it
What a managed plan is not.
Said here because the surprise usually lives in this list rather than the one above.
- Projects are quoted separately, and flatA migration, a rebuild, a new office. Each has a number before the work starts rather than an hourly meter.
- Hardware and licenses are yoursWe specify and buy them at cost through you. We do not mark them up and we do not lock them to us.
- It is not an insurance opinionWe document the controls you have. What your policy covers is a question for whoever wrote it.
- Published hours, and cover beyond themMonday to Friday, 9 to 5. After-hours support is available and can be discussed.
How it is priced
Flat, per person, in writing.
It is $95 to $165 per person per month across the three plans, with a five-person minimum. A firm of one to four has Solo Care at $125 per person, with no minimum; a managed plan starts at $475 a month. Every quote follows a 15-minute review. The shape of the deal is published in full on the managed IT page: one flat price per person per month, a five-person minimum, month to month with thirty days notice, and no ticket budgets.
Questions
What people ask about the plan.
What does a managed IT plan include?
Help desk for everyone, patching, monitoring, Microsoft 365 administration, enforced multi-factor authentication and backup in every plan. The higher tiers add endpoint protection, email security, phishing simulation, ongoing email authentication monitoring, a quarterly review, and written documentation of the controls in place.
How much does it cost?
One flat price per person per month, across three tiers. It is $95 to $165 per person per month, depending on the plan, with a five-person minimum. A firm of one to four has Solo Care at $125 per person, with no minimum; a managed plan starts at $475 a month. The quote itself follows a 15-minute review, because what you actually run decides which plan fits.
Are there ticket limits?
No. Asking for help twice in a week is not a billing event. If a plan makes people hesitate before asking for help, it is costing more than it saves.
Is hardware included?
No, and it is not marked up either. We specify what you need and it is bought through you at cost, so the equipment is yours and is not tied to us continuing as your provider.
What happens in the first month?
Mostly finding what nobody knew about: the machine nobody patches, the account of somebody who left, the backup that has never been restored from, and the systems sending email as you that are in nobody's records. Then a security baseline, and the documentation that did not exist.
Can we start with one thing instead of a plan?
Yes, and sometimes you should. Fixed-price jobs stand on their own: email authentication set up and monitored, or a move off a free mailbox onto your own domain. If a plan is not the right buy yet we will tell you, because selling one to a three-person firm is how both sides end up unhappy.
